2009 State Games of America National Table Tennis Tournament  Colorado Springs, Colorado --Austin Preiss of Colorado became the youngest Men’s Gold Medalist in the Table Tennis Event at the State Games on August 2nd, 2009 by winning the Men’s Championship Elite Singles in front of his home town. Austin who attends Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs , also won the Gold Medal in the Table Tennis Junior Event and a Silver Medal in the Junior Golf Event. This was Austin ’s 7th and 8th National Table Tennis Titles. Austin who also plays for the Cheyenne Mountain Golf Team has his eyes on someday making the PGA Tour and the 2012 US Olympic Table Tennis Team. At just 14 years old, his future is bright. It was table tennis heaven for many. And for Austin Preiss getting the chance to meet Anna Kournikova, well it was Preissless.. Congratulations to Austin Preiss for his fine performance in the All Star Hardbat Event, and for taking down the eventual winner of the All Star Bracket, Trevor Runyon, but losing in a three way tie for 1st. Congratulations to Trevor Runyon for making the final four! |
